Shelton, WA is a city of about 10,000 in Mason County, just a few miles Northwest of Olympia. Originally incorporated in 1890, the city was named Sheltonville for David Shelton, a delegate to the territorial legislature.
The city was served by Washington’s historic moquito fleet of steamships. The Simpson Timber company is prominent in Shelton, and the city bills itself as the “Christmas Tree Capital”.
